Description

 
We are recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Information Systems Department in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
Summary:
The Kindred network team designs, implements and supports networks that provide services to our employees and customers.  The team supports converged data, voice, video, and wireless networks which our healthcare facilities and offices rely upon for communication. 
 
Tasks:
The following are common tasks performed by Kindred Network engineers.  Successful candidates should have some experience with each of these areas.
  • Configure and manage Cisco routers, switches & firewalls.
  • Design, install, and support wireless networks. 
  • Provide support to networks that host SIP, VoIP systems, and high definition video conferencing.
  • Deploy and manage MPLS and broadband circuits for remote facilities.
  • Measure and diagnose network performance using tools such as Orion Network Performance Monitor, Network Configuration manager, and Fluke Netflow Tracker, and Live Action.
  • Analyze network traces to identify root cause of performance issues, and implement corrective actions. 
  • Participate with teams in network planning and design, and document network architecture, standards, and procedures.
  • Develop solutions in response to customer requests, and present recommendations that include technical and cost benefit analysis.
  • Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of network strategy including technologies related to Unified Access, Cloud Based Networking, and Cisco IWAN, and ACI.

Qualifications

 
Experience:
  • 5+ years experience as a Network Engineer in a large-scale inter-network environment with proven complex network design experience.
  • 2+ years recent experience in a position where primary responsibilities included Cisco network support in a large scale environment.
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Cisco IOS is required.
  • Experience supporting MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, broadband, and VPNs.
  • Some experience supporting wireless networks is required.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
Depending on a candidate’s qualifications, this position may be filled at a different level.
